The watch features a titanium case with 300m (1000ft) water resistance, a screw-down crown, a screw caseback, a scratch and shatter-resistant sapphire crystal, and Tritium GTLS light sources on the hands for optimal performance in low light conditions. The special covert matte black non-reflective PVD finish is often specified in military contracts for special forces units and anti-terrorist teams for various covert operations. In the PVD process, the titanium is coated with a special chemical PVD plating, which is vastly superior to the painted finish used on lower quality watches that can easily fade or wear off. This PVD process alters the color of the metal at a molecular level, ensuring durability even during heavy use, though it can be damaged if the case is severely gouged or abraded. The MWC 300m Black PVD titanium G10, with a Swiss Ronda 715li movement, is one of their highest specification general service watches. It combines the best of new and traditional watchmaking technology, retaining all the popular features of the conventional 300m steel models while adding a titanium case, ultra-low maintenance movement, and cutting-edge self-luminous GTLS tritium vials for unbeatable night visibility. The addition of a shatter and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal makes this the ideal timepiece for military, law enforcement, and security applications. The self-luminous system ensures easy readability at night, featuring a distinctive high-visibility dial. The hour markers and the hour and minute hands each contain a brightly glowing vial of Tritium gas, well within the personal limit of 25 millicuries (see U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations 10 CFR 30.15). Military watches of this type are the easiest to read in low light or total darkness, with a self-activated light source 100 times brighter than traditional paint. The light-emitting tubes require no battery power or any form of charging and never need servicing or maintenance. MWC designed these watches for a government contract, ensuring they could be stored and issued without the concern of dead batteries. The Ronda 715li movement, with a 10-year battery life, addresses this issue perfectly. The standard MWC G10 is one of the most tried and tested military watches, with earlier variants in service since the 1980s. This model shares a similar design to the steel models but is elevated by the titanium case. The G10 Combat Elite range comes with a black NATO pattern nylon military webbing strap.
